Data Availability and Research Integrity

Authors are required to ensure data accuracy and integrity and to provide a clear Data Availability Statement describing access to the data supporting the published findings, in accordance with COPE and ICMJE guidelines.

SCIENCE – International Journal is committed to promoting transparency, reproducibility, and integrity in scholarly research. The journal follows internationally recognized standards and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) regarding data availability and responsible research conduct.

Data Accuracy and Integrity

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all data presented in their manuscripts are accurate, complete, and honestly reported. Data must not be fabricated, falsified, selectively reported, or manipulated in a manner that could mislead readers or compromise the validity of the research.

All analyses and results must be supported by the underlying data.

Data Availability Statement

All manuscripts must include a Data Availability Statement describing where and how the data supporting the findings of the study can be accessed.

Data may be:

  • deposited in a recognized institutional, national, or subject-based repository;

  • made available upon reasonable request from the corresponding author;

  • subject to justified restrictions (e.g., ethical, legal, or confidentiality constraints).

Any restrictions on data access must be clearly explained in the manuscript.

Reproducibility and Transparency

Authors are encouraged to provide sufficient methodological detail, datasets, and supplementary materials to enable replication and verification of the reported results, where feasible.

When software, code, or algorithms are central to the findings, authors should make them available or clearly state the conditions under which access can be granted.

Retention of Data

Authors must retain original research data for a reasonable period following publication and be prepared to provide access to the data if requested by the editorial office for verification purposes.

Ethical and Legal Considerations

Data sharing must comply with applicable ethical standards, privacy regulations, and data protection laws.
For research involving human participants or sensitive data, authors must ensure appropriate anonymization or safeguards to protect confidentiality.

Editorial Oversight and Investigations

The editorial office may request access to underlying data during peer review or after publication if concerns arise regarding the integrity or validity of the research.

Failure to provide data when reasonably requested, or evidence of data manipulation or misconduct, may result in editorial action, including rejection, correction, retraction, or notification of relevant institutions, in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Final Statement

Transparent data availability and adherence to principles of research integrity are essential to maintaining trust in the scholarly record and the credibility of published research.
